USING NEW GREEN MATERIAL
Since 2019, Qualipac’s teams have been working to replace the petroleum-based plastics used up to now with new eco-friendly material, such as recycled and biosourced plastics.
CONTRIBUTING TO THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Qualipac has made a commitment to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in the “New Plastics Economy”, with the goal of developing a circular economy for plastics by 2025. This commitment is a concrete obligation by this date to :
• Offering our clients alternative materials to certain plastics, in particular styrene plastics or polyoxymethylene (POM);
• Favoring the reuse of our secondary production packaging within our supply chain and with our clients;
• Together with our clients, develop eco-designed products enabling the recycling or reuse of various plastic components;
• Incorporate 10% recycled plastic material into our products.
THE "ECO-FRIENDLY PLASTICS" PROGRAM
Thanks to the “Eco-friendly Plastics” program, we can now offer our clients :
• Credible technical alternatives to POM and styrene;
•A “Materials catalog” expanded to include more than 27 eco-friendly plastics, ranging from post-consumer R-PET to PP made from agroforestry waste;
• An awareness and a source of inspiration for recyclable and refillable concepts, with in particular “Essentiel”, a recyclable and refillable eco-designed box, and the range of Modulo skin care jars (refillable jars, modulable in eco-friendly material).
In addition, there are 20 eco-responsible projects under development, nearly 800 tons of eco-friendly plastics, representing over 13% of our consumption.
